The End of the World...as we know it!

The year is 1987...the band is R.E.M. (wow...I'm dating myself)...the song..."It's the end of the world as we know it...and I feel fine!" (click to hear) Yesterday marks the end of my world AS I KNOW IT!  It's time for transformation...and "I feel fine!"

One of God's greatest gifts to us is the ability to START FRESH, make new commitments, changes, and grow in life.  That is what this summer is all about!  The next 90 days are going to be a time for me to push the limits...challenge myself - spirit, soul, and body.  It's an END to one way of living, and a BEGINNING of new habits, decisions, priorities.  Romans 12:1-2 encourages us...

1Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual^[a] act of worship. 2Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will

We present, or offer ourselves, as open, willing, available vessels to God - refusing to conform to an inferior system or pattern of this age, but allowing God to transform us by renewing our mind (through replacement - filling our minds with His Word, principles, thoughts so that we THINK from a different REALITY)...THEN, we will prove God's will (administrating His Kingdom "on earth as it is in heaven").

What this looks like for me now is...reading through the entire Bible in 90 days, connecting with friends, family, and church family at deeper levels, and loosing 10lbs while developing a consistent healthier lifestyle...WHEW!  It's a stout order...but with the empowerment of God's Holy Spirit...ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!!!
